矿业安全

In contractual agreement with the Mine 安全 and Health 政府(矿山)及 United States Department of Labor, the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Nebraska 安全中心 provides training, 咨询, and safety services to over 200 mines and in Nebraska. Contractors and customers of these mines are also served. Classes offered include:

  • Annual Refresher Training: Part 46 - This training is provided on and off campus.
  • New Miner Training - Training for persons new to the mining industry or interested in becoming miners is provided year round on and off the campus of 体育菠菜大平台. This two training day meets 16 hours of the requirements 24 hours of training for a New Miner. Training includes first aid, 心肺复苏, introduction to work environment, laws and regulations, personal protective equipment, 工厂关闭, 和其他人.
  • Mine 安全 and Health Conference - This conference is held in Kearney, Nebraska each year. The full day program deals with trends, emerging issues, and includes presentations by industry representatives and 矿山 personnel. Nebraska has over 200 mines. Nebraska mines are sand and gravel, uranium, surface and underground limestone, clay and cement. The uranium mine is located in the northwest part of the state and the limestone, cement and clay are located in eastern Nebraska. Sand and gravel operations include dry and wet processes. All miners are required to have initial and annual training.

Mining in Nebraska
Contractor personnel are required to have training if they are engaged in mining operations, including developing, 钻井, 爆破, 提取, 铣, 破碎, screening or sizing materials, or hauling materials within the mine. Others needing training are maintenance personnel, service workers, or construction workers, working on mine equipment for frequent or extended periods.
